EcoVadis
Assessing Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable procurement in global supply chains

In July 2025 the global sustainability ratings provider EcoVadis recognised UPM with the highest possible Platinum score for its responsibility performance. This year UPM’s score was all time high, 90/100.

EcoVadis acts as a trusted partner for procurement teams all over the world and helps the organisations to reduce risks and drive innovation in their responsibility activities. The assessment covers over 250 spend categories and more than 130,000 companies in over 185 countries are assessed. 

 

 

Dow Jones Sustainability Index
Describing top-performing companies in sustainability from each sector on a global and regional level

DJSI is based on corporate environmental, social and governance performance, assessing issues such as climate change mitigation, supply chain standards, labour practices, corporate governance and risk management. UPM has been listed as the only forest and paper industry company in the Dow Jones Global and European Sustainability Indices (DJSI) for the years 2024-2025.

 

 

CDP Programme
Evaluating transparency, awareness, management and leadership in climate change, forests and water security

UPM received an A score for its leadership in corporate transparency and action on climate change mitigation, and an A- for forest and water stewardship.

In July 2025 we were also listed in the CDP's Supplier Engagement Assessment (SEA) with an A score. The assessment evaluates how companies engage their supply chains on climate-related issues. 

 

 

S&P Global’s Sustainability Yearbook
Evaluating environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices

UPM was recognized in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2025 as one of the top 10% performers in its industry. 

 

 

MSCI ESG ratings
Managing environmental, social and governance (ESG) risks and opportunities

MSCI ESG Research provides ratings on global public companies, according to each company’s exposure to the most significant industry-specific ESG risks and its ability to manage those risks relative to its peers. UPM received an AAA rating in the assessment.
