Finalist in Sustainability Awards 2024
UPM Specialty Papers is a finalist in the Sustainability Awards in the Climate category. The innovative finalist packaging solution is co-created together with Lantmännen Unibake Finland and Adara Pakkaus. Mark down the date as the winning innovations will be announced at the event.
The new fibre-based packaging uses UPM Asendo™ barrier paper as an inner liner in the cardboard box, making it possible to now package frozen bread without a plastic bag. UPM Asendo is suitable for a variety of food packaging end-uses thanks to its properties that affect shelf life, such as grease and moisture barrier. The packaging paper is recyclable and compostable both industrially and in home composting.
