(UPM, Helsinki, May 18, 2010) - UPM has launched a new paper for high-speed inkjet colour printing within its UPM DIGI paper range at the IPEX 2010 fair in Birmingham, UK.

The UPM DIGI Color Jet is a pigmented inkjet paper. It prints vivid colours and uniform solids and has high colour intensity with low ink amounts. Its main end-uses are direct mail and transpromotional document printing, but it also suits perfectly for many other colourful mailing documents and books.

The paper has been granted the EU Eco-label as a proof of its strong environmental performance in manufacturing and sustainable raw material use. The producing mill, UPM Docelles, also has PEFC and FSC Chain of Custodies, confirming the origin of wood.

The 90 g/m² paper is available in reels. "This paper completes our inkjet paper range by offering top in the class colour printing quality and excellent water fastness on all major high speed inkjet devices," says Mikko Mensonen, UPM, Product Manager, Office, Postal & DIGI papers.

The UPM DIGI range is the widest range of digital printing papers available on the market. End-users can select from a variety of surface finishes (gloss, silk and matt) and from a wide spectrum of basis weights, ranging from 45 to 350 g/m². The UPM DIGI range is designed for the most versatile digital end-user sectors, such as personalised direct mail, high quality advertising materials, transactional documents, books and newspapers, catalogues or magazines.

The range offers paper qualities for all the common digital printing systems based on electrophotography or ink-jet technology, for mono and colour printing, and various sizes such as cut sizes, folio sheets, Xeikon reels, and large diameter reels for digital web printing.
