UPM launches the new generation UPM Star on the market in October. Its optical properties, brightness and shade have been improved. The paper's new visual appearance is whiter and cleaner. Other quality properties, including the opacity, have remained unchanged.

"The success of UPM Star is based on continuous quality improvement," says UPM Star Product Manager Eero Seppälä. "We want to keep our leading position also in the future and make UPM Star a more tempting paper for both advertisers and readers."

The new generation UPM Star has been developed in co-operation with the customers involving UPM's marketing, technical service, production and development teams. The brightness and shade improvement will apply to the whole UPM Star H range produced by UPM's Kaukas and Rauma mills, the improvement being more significant in heavier substances.

UPM Star is a high-brightness, coated mechanical paper for high-quality magazines, including special interest magazines, magazine covers, special sales catalogues, advertising material, direct mailing and books.
