UPM-Kymmene has been actively sponsoring the FF Jaro football club for a number of years, and now it is increasing the level of its support. When the season opens on 23 April, FF Jaro will be seen wearing new strip bearing the logo of "Yes", UPM-Kymmene's photocopy and printing paper for the private consumer.
UPM-Kymmene's Wisaforest plant in Pietarsaari has been supporting the local FF Jaro club for years. "We supply pulp to the UPM-Kymmene production plants that make Yes papers," is the explanation supplied by Bjarne Sjöblom, business development director for these fine and special papers, for the involvement of a further division of the Group in sponsorship for the club.
"UPM-Kymmene is increasingly supplying its Yes brand photocopy and printing papers to the final consumer market, for example supermarkets and office supplies dealers. As the Finnish market is becoming more and more important, we see the successful FF Jaro club as an excellent advertising partner for our Yes brand. We also produce Yes range photographic papers at WalkiWisa here in Pietarsaari, which completes the link between FF Jaro in Pietarsaari and Yes!"
About three years ago UPM-Kymmene launched two strong photocopy and printing paper brands on the market: Future is the range for users in commercial firms and administrative authorities, and Yes is aimed at the private consumer. "The use of PCs and other digital equipment in the home is increasing and becoming more and more complicated," explains Herbert Hennig, UPM-Kymmene's marketing director for office papers. "The private consumer is looking for high-quality, but clearly structured solutions. Yes is our response to this demand!"
In the course of the summer of 2002 Yes should be available in Finland at 60 branches of the Suomalainen Kirjakauppa chain.
