(UPM, Dörpen, November 29, 2006) – After completing modernisation work on two of its fine paper machines in autumn 2006, UPM will present an upgraded and expanded range of office papers at Paperworld in Frankfurt on 24–28 January 2007.

UPM’s participation at the Paperworld fair in January 2007 will be in the spirit of the slogan ‘Continuous Improvement’. The company recently invested over 100 million euros in two of its uncoated fine paper machines at Nordland Papier in Germany and Papeteries de Docelles in France. This has significantly improved key paper characteristics, such as the whiteness, bulk and surface smoothness of cut-size, preprint and envelope papers. Along with these quality improvements, UPM will also introduce new high-bulk multipurpose papers, and new lightweight papers in 75 g/m². A further novelty will be UPM’s preprint folio sheet papers which will complete the existing preprint reel paper range.

“We are looking forward to presenting what we have achieved during the past few months to an international professional audience at Paperworld,” says Martina Schürmann, Marketing Manager, Graphic & Office Papers, stressing the importance of the trade fair for office supplies and paper. The relaunch of the Yes and Future brands will also be something to look forward to. “While staying true to the key design elements that have proven themselves during our seven years of market presence, we are going to showcase the technical improvements made in our mills and our ranges with a revamped sales-boosting packaging design,” says Schürmann.

Along with the office paper brands Yes, Future and UPM Office, UPM’s stand will also display the digital paper brands from the UPM DIGI range, the preprint papers from the UPM Preprint range and the envelope papers from the UPM Mail range. The SmartWrap outer packaging concept will be an additional highlight.
